Title: Quality Assurance Software Tester (Ottawa Position)

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business with IT focus
Location: Ottawa (Bells Corners), Ontario.
Position Type: Full Time.
Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000. Commensurate with education, skills and experience.
Benefits: Eligible for Drug, Dental, Life & Long-term Disability at 3 months of full time employment.
Report to: V.P. of Quality Assurance.
Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to each release, provide a professional level of testing in an agile development framework.
  • Collaborate with all teams to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and convert requirements into detailed tests and execute on them.
  • Build and provide solutions to our clients.
  • Ensure legal, compliance, and IT Security policies are followed.
  • Performs other work as assigned by the V.P. of Quality Assurance.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Quality Assurance software tester.
  • Creating and managing Test Cases.
  • Ability to produce quality test design with informal requirements.
  • Both white box and black box test.
  • Using SQL to troubleshoot data quality.
  • Working knowledge of database design, RDBMS including SQL Server.
  • Sound knowledge of software quality assurance practices with strong testing aptitude.
  • A focus on both business and technical requirements.
  • The ability to clearly translate requirements and bugs from end/internal users into reproducible reports or feature requests.
  • An understanding of how users use software and best practices.
  • A willingness to perform manual as well as automated testing.
  • The ability to produce quality test design with informal requirements.

Title: Software Developer

Primary Function: Provide expertise as a full stack software developer on all platforms and products related to the EMR Advantage suite of software and components.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering stream preferred).
Location: Ottawa (Bells Corners), Ontario.
Position Type: Full Time.
Compensation: $65,000 - $80,000
Benefits: Eligible at 3 months of full time employment.
Report to: V.P. of Product Development.
Responsibilities:

  • Testing, documenting issues in the bug tracking program, and communicating with other developers to come to a resolution.
  • Application maintenance (bug fixing), enhancements (new features).
  • Working with third parties and test sites for integrations to other applications and troubleshooting issues.
  • Designing, architecting and developing new features for the products.
  • Contribute to the evolutionary development for the EMR Advantage product line at all stages of development from conception to design to implementation to maintenance.
  • Prototype and implement new generation technologies into the EMR Advantage platform.
  • Documentation of designs and specifications.

Experience — Minimum of two years' experience in at least 3 of the following:

  • Developing software with C# and Visual Studio 2015+
  • SQL Server 2008+; T-SQL — creating stored procedures, functions, advanced queries, etc.
  • ASP.Net — MVC, WebAPI, RESTful services.
  • HL7, HL7-FHIR
  • Cordova mobile application development
  • JavaScript, JQuery/Mobile, Angular.
  • Desktop Development — WinForms/WPF
  • Windows Services/middleware development.

Skills, Competencies:

  • Works under minimum technical direction from the V.P. of Product Development.
  • Possesses high energy and stamina with ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Thorough understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Demonstrates ability to use analytical and problem solving skills
  • Able to represent technical information to non-technical team members and clients.
  • Completes work within expected periods of time.
  • Communicates well with colleagues.
